IAEME Publication and the Open Access Spectrum
IAEME Publication is committed to the principles of openness and transparency in scholarly communication, aligning its policies with the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) and the Open Access Spectrum (OAS) supported by SPARC and OASPA. The Open Access Spectrum identifies six key components of openness: reader rights, reuse rights, copyright, author posting rights, automatic posting, and machine readability. IAEME Publication strives to maximize openness across all these dimensions. It is fully open on Reader Rights, ensuring that all articles are freely accessible to the global community without restriction. Since January 2000, IAEME Publication has been fully open on Reuse Rights, providing content under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY) license, which allows unrestricted distribution and reuse with proper attribution. For authors preferring more control, the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) license is available upon request, also fulfilling OASPA standards for reuse. Regarding Copyright, IAEME Publication asks authors to grant only a nonexclusive copyright, thereby allowing authors to retain full ownership of their work without restriction, while IAEME Publication produces and disseminates the final version of record. In terms of Author Posting Rights, authors are free to post preprints and postprints of their manuscripts on any repository or website. Once published, the final paper, formatted by IAEME, is released under the selected Creative Commons license, and authors are encouraged to share this version using the permanent DOI link provided via CrossRef. IAEME also ensures Automatic Posting, making articles available online immediately upon acceptance and finalization, with no embargo periods. Finally, on Machine Readability, IAEME enhances discoverability and interoperability by supplying comprehensive metadata for all articles to the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ), which ensures OAI-compliant access. By adhering to these standards, IAEME Publication demonstrates its dedication to advancing open access and supporting a fully transparent, reusable, and accessible scholarly communication ecosystem.
